OSHA Updates Hazard Communication Enforcement Procedures

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently issued an updated Inspection Procedures directive for the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS 2024). The directive explains revised enforcement procedures tied to the updated Hazard Communication Standard, which went into effect on July 19, 2024.

The directive places greater enforcement emphasis on written Hazard Communication programs, updated Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), workplace labeling, employee training, and multi-employer hazard communication procedures.
