US Will Need Nearly One Million New Construction Workers by 2027

The U.S. construction industry needs to attract 349,000 net new workers in 2026 to meet demand. That’s according to Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), which is also forecasting the need for another 456,000 new workers in 2027.

The ABC has developed a proprietary model to forecast labour demand, based on the historical relationship between inflation-adjusted construction spending growth and payroll construction employment.
