OSHA Announces Enhanced Self-Audit Resources To Assist Employers With Compliance
July 29, 2025
On July 24, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced it is enhancing its Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP), which recognize companies that voluntarily take extra steps to promote employee safety. These are businesses that have implemented effective safety and health programs and maintain low injury rates. The VPP allows employers to undergo regular self-evaluations and avoid routine inspections.
OSHA is also expanding efforts to support voluntary compliance through the On-Site Consultation Program to help employers protect workers and promote safety. This service is free and confidential and is designed for small and medium-sized businesses. OSHA expert consultants will partner with employers to identify and fix safety hazards, improve safety practices and understand OSHA requirements — without any risk of citations or penalties.
